On January 12, 2014, I brought home my dream dog - an 11-week old Bernese Mountain Dog. I didn’t know it at the time, but this one dog would change my life forever.
I named him Odin after my love of history and Norse mythology, and he became my best friend. He went everywhere with me. I took him to work, to the grocery store, I even took him to the gym.
He was the best dog ever, and when we lost him in June 2021, I felt like my heart would never recover. But luckily by that time, we had gotten Odin a brother, and then got his brother a brother and so on.
It’s been a never-ending string of “Berners” in our house and I can’t imagine it any other way. It’s fair to say I’m obsessed, and helping others learn about and care for this amazing breed has become my greatest passion!
My goal is not to convince you this is the breed for you and your family, but to share stories about what I’ve learned owning dogs for over a decade, and how we can give all dogs the longest, best life possible.
